Every 30 years, a new princess is chosen from the Hime family to serve the Hayagami. The time has come again, but over these past years, records state not a single female has been born, save for one, the 15-year-old Arata. The only problem is, Arata is actually a male! Forced to disguise himself and take the place of the princess candidate until a formal one can be found, he attends the festival only to witness the current princess, Kokuri-hime, murdered, and his own life is forfeit as well, by the hands of the princess' personal guard, the 12 Shinshou. As he runs for his life, Kannagi of the 12 convinces everyone that Arata is the one who has murdered the princess instead, and now everyone in the Imperial Court is after his head!

I have not read the manga yet but the beginning of this episode was pretty typical.

Mm, I find some of the music to be a bit silly. Arata seems to be a gentle guy though who cares about others. I feel a bit sorry for the grandma.

Arata is also dressed kinda funny, almost looks liked a girl kinda. Oh snap:

Some of the action were okay I guess. I'm still curious on what direction this show will go.

Aiura

The story centers around Amaya, Iwasawa, and Uehara—three "annoying, spirited high school girls with zero motivation"—and their classmates. Their daily life is "what happens when there is nothing happening."

DAT OPENING. Lol, those crabs.

I kinda liked the visuals for this tbh. Ayuko looked the cutest imo and gives off this cherry atmosphere. Too bad this was way too short.

Kawaiii!

Yuyushiki

The story follows the school life of three girls, Yuzuko, Yukari, and Yui in the Data Processing Club.

Cute girls doing cute things~

It sticks pretty close to the manga art-style for the character design. However this also means it has the same eccentricity in the design as the manga. Some may not find them really that "moe". It will depend on how they like the story and the character interaction when they actually get to see the show.

Can't help thinking the title can be an abbreviation of YuruYuriShiki. Yui is there. Chinatsu is there. And it is girls interacting among themselves. I can even feel a bit of Kill Me Baby, Lucky Star and A-Channel in there. Well, because of these reasons, I am happy :-) The character design may need some getting used to though, but I am fine with it so far.

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince

In the latter half of 21st century, humans leave the Earth and begin to live in space. In order to adapt to the environment in space and deal with the hostile aliens in Jupiter, genetically engineered children called "Princes" are artificially raised and trained to be pilots of armed robots "AHSMB (Advanced High Standard Multipurpose Battle Device). This is a story about one of the teenage "Princes", Hitachi O Izuru, who studies in an academic city Grandzehle.

Mm, the first episode was alright I guess. In a nutshell:

Otherwise, the atmosphere is rather lighthearted for this mecha series. Some of the mecha designs are neat. I'm not 100% sure on who they are fighting against in space but the music in the background is nice.

I don't think it will be lighthearted all the way. They have updated the mood and characters to the current popular style but I believe at its core they have a serious story to tell. Well, they have 2 cour to do it - plenty of time...

Mecha action is good but I still find the character design difficult to like.

Not much of explanation about what they are fighting - we don't even know what the enemy is talking about....

Still unsure why it is picked by fans in Japan as the mecha anime most likely to sell the most this season (beating Valvrave and Gargantia).

RDG: Red Data Girl

A modern fantasy based on Japanese Shinto legends. Suzuhara Izumiko is a 15-year-old girl, who has been raised and protected in a shrine deep in the Kumano mountains. She is quite shy and destroys all the electric devices she touches. When she begins to think about going out of the mountains and moving to the city, her guardian Sagara Yukimasa recommends her to enter a high school in Tokyo and forces his son Miyuki to serve Izumiko for life. Miyuki and Izumiko repel each other but their relationship begins to change when a terrifying accident occurs on the school excursion. Izumiko learns her fate as the last representative (yorishiro) of a Himegami goddess and Miyuki learns of his duty as a guardian Yamabushi of Izumiko.

Sounds like it could be an emotional roller coaster ride mixed in with a lot of drama and maybe even psychological themes. Science Fiction is also very likely a theme based on the synopsis.

It seems that Suzuhara is quite the shy girl but I liked her voice mannerisms. The part with the water was kinda weird. RIP computer life. So I guess she's definitely not normal but other wise, this first episode was blend. I'm hoping for some development soon though especially with the premise going on.
